Deer Lake Inn (1923) – Clarkston Michigan

DEER LAKE INN, CLARKSTON, MICH. — Dated Sept. 4, 1922, this photo shows the big Deer Lake Inn perched above Deer Lake, with its wide porches ready for summer guests.

Local histories describe the inn as one of the area’s popular resorts in the late 1800s and early 1900s, when visitors arrived by train — and later by car on Dixie Highway. Guests came for boating, fishing, and time at the lake.

Do you remember stories about the Deer Lake Inn — or have old menus, postcards, or photos?
