When I got off the train in Roscommon Michigan

Black-And-White Photo Of A Crowded Depot Platform Beside Passenger Train Cars, With People, Luggage, A Handcart And An Early Automobile Near The Station Building.

A passenger train is stopped at a busy depot platform as travelers, trunks and a handcart crowd the scene — with an early automobile parked out front.

The handwritten caption says, “Where I got off the train, Roscommon, Mich.” and suggests an early-1900s moment. One catch: the depot sign at left appears to read “Blanchard,” so the exact location needs a closer look.

If this is Roscommon, it fits the era when the Michigan Central’s Mackinaw Branch helped connect Northern Michigan towns with downstate cities and summer travelers.

What do you know or remember about the Roscommon depot — or that “Blanchard” sign?
