Birds Eye View of Ovid Michigan

A Hazy Elevated View Over Ovid, Michigan, Showing Clustered Buildings, Dirt Streets, Trees, And Railroad Tracks With A Freight Car On The Right.

Bird’s-eye view of Ovid, Michigan, looking over rooftops toward the railroad line, with a freight car visible at right. The handwritten title on the image calls it “Bird’s Eye View of Ovid, Mich.” and credits F. Den Houten, dated 1910 in a University of Michigan postcard record.

Ovid grew up around the rails — the community sat on the Grand Trunk Western route and the depot helped anchor local business. Local history materials note the village developed around the relocated depot and incorporated in 1869.

Do you recognize any buildings or remember family stories tied to Ovid’s railroad days?
