Metamora’s Four Corners looks busy even on a snowy day — wagons out front and storefront awnings pulled tight.

Snowy Streets, Horse Teams And Brick Storefronts — A Classic Look At Downtown Metamora, Likely Near The Village’s Famous Four Corners Crossroads.

Snow piles up along downtown Metamora as teams of horses and wagons line the street in this old village scene. The view appears to be at — or near — Metamora’s “Four Corners” intersection of Oak and High streets, where many of the community’s best-known historic buildings still stand today.

That crossroads is the heart of the Metamora Crossroads Historic District, a small pocket of commercial and residential structures largely built in the 1850–1910 era and later listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Do you recognize which corner this is — or know what businesses once filled these storefronts?
