Linwood Park Depot Near Bay City Michigan

A Hand-Colored Postcard Shows A Passenger Train Beside A Small Depot Labeled Linwood Park, With A Platform, A Few People, And Open Parkland Nearby.

This hand-colored postcard shows a passenger train stopped at the Linwood Park depot near Bay City, with the small station building and platform in the foreground. The printed caption at top reads, “4147. Linwood Park, Bay City, Mich.”

Linwood Park wasn’t just a flag stop — it was a Saginaw Bay resort operated in the early 1900s by the Detroit & Mackinac Railroad, which ran excursion trains out to the park from Bay City (and coordinated trips with the Pere Marquette from Saginaw). The Detroit Public Library’s digital record identifies this as the Linwood Park railroad depot postcard and notes it was published for S.H. Knox & Co.

Do you remember Linwood Park — or have family stories about day trips up the bay by train?
