The Three Old Bridges in Blissfield, Michigan c1930

Black-And-White Photo Of Several Adjacent Steel Truss Bridges Over A River In Blissfield, Michigan, Viewed From A Road Approach With Trees In The Background.

Three steel truss bridges sit side by side over the River Raisin in this vintage view labeled “The Three Old Bridges, Blissfield, Mich.”

Blissfield was known for its “triple bridges” — separate crossings built for different kinds of traffic as the town grew. One well-documented survivor is the railroad bridge over the River Raisin, credited to the American Bridge Co. and dated to 1907. A historic postcard on that same site notes the three-bridge setup (highway, interurban, railroad), though the “only triple bridge in the world” line shows up as a period claim, not a proven fact.

Do you remember when Blissfield still had multiple bridges clustered here — or know exactly where this photo was taken?
