**Michigan Central Depot at Mullett Lake, Michigan**

Adults and children gather outside the Michigan Central depot at Mullett Lake. A child stands in the open doorway. The little station has a steep corner roof, broad eaves and signs reading “Mullet Lake.”

The railroad reached the community in 1881, helping the lakeshore settlement grow. A 1925 passenger timetable places Mullet Lake between Birchwood and Cheboygan on the route to Mackinaw City. The depot later became a private residence, giving the old station another use after its railroad years.
