The Mill Glen Arbor, Mich.

Black-And-White Photo Of A Tall White Mill Building On Wooden Supports Beside A Calm River, Framed By Trees On Both Banks.

This postcard-style photo shows The Mill in Glen Arbor rising over the Crystal River, with the mill race and timber supports visible at the waterline.

The building is widely described as a 19th-century grist mill — though sources don’t all agree on the exact build year (often cited as 1879, and sometimes as 1897). In the late 2010s, the long-vacant mill was purchased and rehabbed, and it has since reopened as The Mill Glen Arbor, with a riverside cafe and bakery, guest rooms, and a small restaurant called Supper.

If you grew up in Leelanau County, you might remember when the mill sat quiet — or when it had other uses over the years.

What do you remember about this spot in Glen Arbor?
