Central Hotel and Feed Barn Atlanta Michigan

Sepia Street Scene Of Howard Avenue In Croswell With Multi-Story Brick Buildings, Storefront Awnings, Utility Poles, And A Horse-Drawn Buggy.

The Central Hotel in Atlanta, Michigan, is the star of this old street scene, with a porch full of onlookers and wagons parked curbside.

A sign for a “feed barn” hints at how travelers moved through town before cars — you could grab a room and keep your team fed and close by. Atlanta became Montmorency County’s seat in 1893, and it later earned an official “Elk Capital of Michigan” designation in 1986.

Do you have family stories, memories, or a guess at the year of this photo?
